Publications
Research reports are published in international peer-reviewed journals of highest possible quality as a matter of course. I support open access publishing and favour journals respecting this principle. I also regularly attend international scientific conferences, promoting my department’s research there.
Furthermore, I think scientists are obliged to popularize research to the general public. I am a member of the Finnish Association of Science Editors and Journalists, actively writing of topics related to biosciences. Tens of my articles have been published in the Yliopisto magazine, Helsingin Sanomat and the Tiede magazine. I find the production of such clear and often compact text as a valuable exercise for scientific writing.
